In Veneto you can go rafting on the Brenta and Adige rivers. Both rivers are surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and offer routes suitable for everyone. The navigable stretches of these two rivers present an abundant but mostly calm water flow rate and are free of technical difficulties. Therefore, to make the trips more adventurous, the rafting centers often offer along the way aquatics and agility tests such as diving, swimming, rope climbs, races between rafts, and more.

A rafting trip in Veneto is also a way to discover the history of the area, especially in Val D'Adige in the Terra dei Forti (Land of the Forts). This area, in fact, is known for the presence of numerous fortresses from the Austro-Hungarian era which are visible while navigating the Adige River.

Rafting: what you need to know to tackle a trip

Rafting is a team river sport that involves traveling down the course of a river by overcoming rapids and other natural obstacles. It is practiced aboard special inflatable boats, rafts. Each raft can carry a crew of 6 to 8 people, captained by an experienced guide who coordinates movements and gives commands for navigation.

In its recreational form, rafting is a suitable activity for everyone. It requires no special experience or skills. You just need to have a good relationship with water and choose the course best suited to your level. A briefing on basic techniques and safety rules is always held before boarding the rafts.

Usually, rafting is practiced from April to October. You need to wear a bathing suit, a thermal T-shirt and sneakers you’re okay with getting wet. All the other equipment is provided by the rafting center.

The best locations for rafting on the Brenta are Valstagna and Campolongo sul Brenta, in the province of Vicenza. Trips of all kinds are organized here, from the simplest and suitable even for children to more adventurous routes that require good water skills.

For rafting on the Adige River, however, you have to move to the province of Verona. The towns of Brentino and Pescantina are the points from which to navigate along the stretch of river that runs through the Lagarina Valley and the Terra dei Forti. Rafting centers in the area also organize special rafting trips in Verona, in which you sail to the historic center of the city.

11 May 2025 | Rafting on the Adige River in the historic centre of Verona

An unforgettable experience, recommended to all!

A wonderful experience that I highly recommend to young and old, young and old! It is also great for those who have little time to dedicate to Verona, perhaps just one day: it gives you an overview of the city from a unique perspective. Our experienced and knowledgeable guide put everyone at ease, allowing even the less experienced to paddle safely and with pleasure. Wolfgang, with great passion, told us numerous details about the Adige, the bridges we crossed and what we could admire along the way. The stop at what will become the future Customs Museum was also very interesting: we really hope that the project will come to life! The images, emotions and sensations experienced during this experience will stay with us for a long time. An activity that leaves its mark!

17 Aug 2025 | Moonlight rafting within the walls of Verona

Rafting and more

A beautiful adventure on the waters of the Adige River in the evening, illuminated by the moonlight, the monuments, houses and surrounding streets of the beautiful city of Verona. The instructors, as well as being friendly, are very serious and well-prepared. Along the way, the instructors themselves accompanied us with anecdotes and notions about the city, the bridges, and the Adige River itself. The adventure is not dangerous but feasible for all ages, it is not difficult to manoeuvre the oars, you only get a little wet and it depends on your seat. The evening ended with refreshments kindly offered. Definitely to be repeated!
