Rafting is a group river sport that consists in descending a river or mountain stream in special boats, called rafts. A crew travels on each raft, captained by an experienced guide who coordinates movements and gives commands. Along the way, you will encounter rapids and other natural obstacles that you must overcome with the help of paddles.
In its recreational form, rafting is a sport suitable for everyone. No specific skills or experience are needed to practice it. You just need to have a good relationship with the water and choose the course best suited to your level. Before boarding the rafts, the guide holds a briefing on basic techniques and safety rules, and you are immediately ready to go.
Rafting centers in and around Pré Saint Didier organize trips down the most beautiful stretches of the Dora Baltea River. A basic route to approach the world of rafting can be 6 to 9 km long for 2 to 3 hours of activity.
Soft-rafting or firt-time rafting experiences involve routes of about 3 km in the calmer sections of the river and are mainly for families with young children. There is then a whole series of trips of different lengths and difficulties for those who already have experience with river sports.
Those who choose to go rafting in Pré Saint Didier will live a perfect mix of nature, adventure, adrenaline and relaxation. Many centers, in fact, offer rafting + spa packages. A two-ay approach to water: first among the cold, bubbling rapids of a river that springs from glaciers, then by soaking in warm pools beneficial to the body.
Just 5 km away from Pré Saint Didier, there’s one of the most important locations for rafting in the Aosta Valley. That is Morgex, a true landmark for river sports regionally and beyond. Those who want to have fun and take a first approach to the world of rafting will have a unique and unforgettable experience here.
Prices for rafting in Morgex or Pré Saint Didier depend on the type of chosen trip. For example, for a first-time rafting experience, you start at 25 euros per person. A classic rafting route, on the other hand, costs around 50 euros per person, while a full trip starts at 65 euros. To purchase a package that includes rafting and Spa, the price starts at 69 euros.
If you are tired of the usual gifts and are looking for an original, brilliant and fun idea, an adventure in the wilderness might just work for you. A rafting trip is the right balance of fun, nature and excitement; it is suitable for everyone, requires no special skills or physical exertion, and allows you to admire beautiful views.
A rafting and Spa experience in Pré Saint Didier is a perfect birthday gift, but it’s good for any occasion. Being a team sport, rafting is ideal for group events such as graduation parties, team buildings or bachelor and bachelorette parties.

While staying in Valle d’Aosta we decided to go try rafting. We were 4 adults with 2 kids aged 9 and 5. Upon arriving we were given a brief orientation on a worse case scenario. We went on the raft and it was so fun! The kids were too cold though since they are little and were not paddling. Next time round i’d consider getting my son diving gloves (if they exist lol). Other than that, the instructor was extremely nice and knowledgeable. We’ll definitely do it again :) Oh and don’t forget to buy the photos!!

Perfect organisation and a fantastic team who gave us a unique experience. No fears whatsoever on a route that was run to perfection by our knowledgeable and very friendly guide! Wonderful for us as parents and unforgettable for our 10-year-old son! I recommend arriving already with your swimming costume on and a backpack with slippers and bathrobe for the final shower. Nothing more!
