Rafting what it is and how to practice

Rafting is a river sport that involves traveling down the course of a river through rapids and other natural obstacles. The special rafts can carry up to 8 people. The crew is captained by an experienced guide who coordinates movements and gives commands for navigation.

In its recreational form, rafting is a sport for everyone, you just need to choose the route best suited to your level. Before setting off on a rafting trip, a briefing is held to learn how to properly use the paddle, wetsuit and safety equipment are put on, and you are immediately ready to enter the water.

The most famous location for rafting in the Aosta Valley on the Dora Baltea River is Morgex. Local outdoor centers offer solutions to all those who want to approach the world of river sports or challenge the rapids of one of Europe’s most raging rivers. From 3 to 17 km, you can choose the route best suited for you, always following the advice of the guides.

To navigate the Dora Baltea you can also start from the municipalities of Pré Saint Didier or Aymavilles. The latter is closest to Aosta, and at the border with Piedmont, and welcomes many rafting enthusiasts from both regions.

Adrenalin in safety

Excellent organisation that provides a safe experience even for inexperienced tourists. The river offers a fun, at times exciting, but not frightening course. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The quality of the photos and videos taken by Santiago are excellent and worth taking, not least because the cost is absolutely reasonable.

Relaxation and fun

A fun and not too demanding experience. On the route that my friends and I tackled, we were always at ease, thanks to both the guide Elodie and the route, which was quite long with moments of relaxation spent admiring the scenery, interspersed with slightly more challenging points where it was necessary to follow the guide's directions. In short, the Basic route is an experience suitable for anyone who wants to try something new, surrounded by nature and in total safety.

Stag do

Wonderful experience, very professional and friendly staff. The place is very well organised and cosy. As soon as we finished the rafting descent, we relaxed in the centre area with tables and sofas in the shade to refresh ourselves. Many thanks to the staff!
